Remote control and sensing via ethernet

The Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate. From sending e-mails that arrive at the recipient's inbox almost immediately, to the plethora of information instantly available on the web, the world has become a much smaller place. That same network of connectivity can also be used to provide real-time remote control and monitoring from within any two Internet accessible points in the world. The Ethernet I/O board allows networking hobbyists to remotely control 4 relay activated devices and monitor the status of 4 optocoupled inputs via the Internet using a Web Browser or the Custom EIO Control Panel Software.

ELOG1 Environmental Data logger
multifunction sensor data logger

The ELOG1 environmental data logger is a highly capable yet relatively inexpensive solution for many types of data logging applications. The ELOG1 provides more measurement inputs than other data loggers of comparable price. While the ELOG1 is highly capable, it is best suited for indoor applications. The case is not water-tight, as can be seen in the rear view picture below. The logger should be protected from precipitation when used outdoors.

The components of ELOG1 are rated for at least 0 to 70 C (32 to 158 F) unless noted otherwise.

  • Dimensions:

    • Case (mm): 129.03 wide x 133.35 deep x 38.1 high

    • Case (inches): 5.08 wide x 5.25 deep x 1.5 high

  • Weight:

    • Assembled with BP and RH options but without batteries: 255 grams (9 oz.)

    • Internal - two AA batteries, alkaline or NiCd. New alkaline batteries will power the ELOG1 for over a month.

    • Off - normal operation.

    • On steady - memory full.

    • Barometric Pressure (BP) sensor option - range 65 to 105 kPa (9.4 to 15.2 psi), accuracy within 1.5%.
      Uses one external analog input.

    • External - two available, one may be used for BP. Hardware configurable gain/filter options.

  • Digital (switch) inputs:

    • All three digital inputs are on the external input connector.

    • One input where rising edges are counted during each sample period.

    • Two inputs that are read at the end of each sample period.

The DE-ACCM2G is an off the shelf 2 axis 2g accelerometer solution with analog outputs. It features integrated op amp buffers for direct connection to a microcontroller's analog inputs, or for driving heavier loads.

To maximise usability, it is designed to fit in the DIP-14 form factor, making the DE-ACCM2G suitable for breadboarding, perfboarding, and insertion into standard chip sockets. To keep things as simple as possible, there are only 4 pins - two for power, and two for the X and Y analog outputs.
 
Additional circuitry ensures that the product won't be damaged by reversed power connections, or voltages above the recommended ratings.

Files are preferred to be in a zip format and source files should be in a common file format like .doc .pdf .html etc. Subject of the e-mail must be: "Submission for IQ Technologies contest".  All projects will be published under "Projects" section or "Articles" section with your name and e-mail.

You can submit more than one project/circuit to achieve more chances to win.

The winners will be selected randomly and he/she will be contacted for gift shipping details. Shipping costs are part of the prize, so you will not pay anything for receiving your gift.
